Our Story
Bishop Orlando (born in 1961 in Muskegon Heights, Michigan) and Pastor Toni Burt (born in 1958 in Detroit, Michigan) met while pursuing medical careers (one as a doctor and the other as a registered nurse). In 1993, they moved from Detroit to Hattiesburg, MS to start a successful medical practice, but you know how the saying goes, “God always laughs at our plans.” Two years later, they formed a Bible study in the medical office which became popular. As a result, in 1997, they opened the church officially called “Word of Faith Christian Center Hattiesburg” with five adults and five children.
Over 20 years later, the Burts shepherd over congregations in Hattiesburg, Gulfport, & Jackson, MS and maintain a dedicated weekly following through the “Revelation Knowledge” TV broadcast. Each campus also offer various community-building activities such as small groups, book clubs, music productions, and other family-friendly events. On June 2, 2019, Bishop Keith A. Butler, founder of the Word of Faith ministry network, installed them as the pastors of Faith4Life Jackson and promoted Dr. Burt to Bishop.
